Dr. Arroyo is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker and author. He began his career at the age of 10 teaching himself programming in Basic. He holds 3 patents and brings over 30 years of experience in the field of AI. He has lived through various technology cycles including the .com boom and the AI winter.
Entrepreneurship
His latest venture, orkid.io, commercializes Neuro-Symbolic AI-powered Hyper-automation solutions and models that help organizations access and profit from multimodal information. Operating at the application layer, orkid.io stands out as one of the few global companies delivering measurable AI value to its customers.
Arroyo actively invests in technology startups and frequently serves as a judge at entrepreneurial competitions, such as Chicago Booth’s Global New Venture Challenge (GNVC).
Advisory
Dr. Arroyo regularly advises governments and Ministers on various AI topics and
best practices including Ethics, Explainable AI and Privacy. He played a key role in shaping Singapore’s 10-year AI strategy by contributing extensively to the IMDA Technology Roadmap on AI, Data, and Blockchain and was elected as a Technical Committee Member of the IMDA IT Technical Standards Committee. He also served on the Information Technology Standards Committee for Ethics and AI and contributed to drafting Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). As an EXCO Member of the AI Professionals Association in Singapore, he helped shape the local AI community.
Directorship
Dr. Arroyo has made substantial contributions to the technology and business communities, holding leadership roles in AI, technology associations, statutory boards, and high-tech ventures.
He was elected President of SGTech’s Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing Chapter and served as the Founding President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. Dr. Arroyo has also held several board positions, including Board Member of EuroCham Singapore, Honorary Treasurer of SGTech’s AI and High-Performance Computing Chapter, and President and Board Member of various early-stage technology companies. Additionally, he was appointed as an Official Member of the Forbes Technology Council.
Volunteering & Non-Profit
Dr. Arroyo served as a Technical Committee Member of the Singapore Data Science Consortium and as a Global Panel Member of MIT Technology Review. He was also an Associate Member of the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) and a Board Member of Live With AI, where he examined the potential impact of AI on the labor market. Additionally, he contributed to the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association (ALITA).
As part of his non-profit work, he provides mentorship and professional guidance to both seasoned professionals and emerging talents, assisting them in advancing their careers or transitioning to new opportunities through his role as a Volunteer Career Advisor for Workforce Singapore (WSG). Additionally, he has served as a Social Assistant with the Red Cross.

Dr. Arroyo is a highly sought-after speaker, having participated in more than 100 engagements, including keynotes, panel discussions, invited talks, and media interviews. He is often featured in prominent global media outlets such as Bloomberg, the Financial Times, and Nikkei, among others.
He is a highly regarded educator, having delivered C-suite 1-on-1s, seminars and courses for executives top global organizations such as, AIA, SC, BBVA, Santander, and UBS, to name a few. He has also taught numerous Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Doctoral courses.
Research
As a researcher, Dr. Arroyo has authored more than 90 publications, many of which have been published at prestigious, high-impact, internationally peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
Back in 2000, his master’s thesis already explored the role of Agents in hyper-automation, incorporating both Machine Learning and Symbolic AI, an early version of what today is known as NeuroSymbolic AI. Subsequently, his Ph.D. advanced the field by establishing a framework for the communication of Intelligent Agents based on Formal Logic and Knowledge Representation techniques. This work garnered international recognition, with each chapter published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Sinuhe fluently speaks four languages, including Spanish, English, German and Italian.
He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Innsbruck in Austria, an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malaga, a B.Sc. in Business Informatics from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a Certificate in the International Directors Programme from INSEAD Business School.
